Who are we?
Dr Navarro is the President of Navarro Pharma, LLC. For over sixteen years, we have provided consultancy services to pharmaceutical companies, the managed care industry, and the legal sector on projects related to managed care drug access, reimbursement, and contracting matters.
Robert’s previous managed care professional experience includes:
- Director of Pharmaceutical Services, United HealthCare
- Assistant Vice President of Provider Services, Health Net
- Vice President for Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Express Scripts, Inc.
About Us
Robert was a co-founder and first president of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy (FMCP).
He also is a member of the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy (JMCP), and a reviewer for the JMCP.
Robert is a recognized authority within the managed care industry, and was the 2009 recipient of the FMCP Stephen G. Avey Award for his contributions to managed pharmacy practice.
Robert is a clinical professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, where he teaches the "Regulating Pharmaceutical Access and Cost" course in the Master of Science in Pharmacy program. See: http://pharmreg.dce.ufl.edu/
He is editor of the textbook Managed Care Pharmacy Practice, 2nd Ed. (Jones & Bartlett 2009).
Robert is a co-author of the managed care pharmacy benefit chapter in the ASHP Handbook of Institutional Pharmacy Practice, 4th Edition, and the Essentials of Managed Health Care, 6th Ed. textbook to be published in 2011.
He is also a member of the American Medical Writers Association.
